Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Last updated: April 21, 2026

The Aftershock for Ryan Foundation (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, make a donation, buy a ticket, or otherwise interact with us, and how we use and protect that information.

Who we are

The Aftershock for Ryan Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our website address is https://staging.aftershockfam.org. You can reach us at info@aftershockfam.org.

What information we collect

Account and contact information. When you create an account, register for an event, apply to volunteer, or sign up for our newsletter, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number, and any details relevant to the form you filled out.

Donations and purchases. When you make a donation or purchase a ticket or merchandise, we collect billing information (name, email, billing address) needed to process the transaction. Payment card details are sent directly to our payment processor, Stripe, and are not stored on our servers.

Automatic information. Like most websites, we automatically collect technical information when you visit — your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages you view. We use this to keep the site secure and understand how visitors use it.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember items in your cart, and measure site usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site (logging in, checkout, ticket purchase) may not work correctly without them.

How we use your information

  • Process donations, ticket purchases, and merchandise orders
  • Send transactional email — order receipts, tax receipts, ticket codes, event reminders
  • Respond to messages and applications you send us
  • Send occasional updates about events and foundation activities (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Recognize donors on our public donor wall (you can opt out of public recognition in your account settings)
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the website
  • Comply with legal obligations, including tax-receipt issuance for charitable contributions

Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with service providers we need to run the foundation:

  • Stripe — processes payments
  • Our web host — stores the website and database
  • Email delivery providers — deliver transactional and marketing email
  • Law enforcement — only when required by law (subpoena, court order)

How long we keep information

We keep account information for as long as you have an account with us. We keep donation and purchase records for at least seven years to meet IRS record-keeping requirements for 501(c)(3) organizations. You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by emailing info@aftershockfam.org, subject to our legal record-keeping obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email info@aftershockfam.org.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS on all pages, bcrypt password hashing, and PCI-compliant payment processing through Stripe. No website is perfectly secure; you use the site at your own risk.

Children

Our site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email.
